Diversity in Clay: New Work by Members
Nevada Clay Guild
Summerlin Library      December 15, 2009 – January 31, 2010

The goal of the Nevada Clay Guild is to inspire excellence and growth in clay art through education, exhibitions and a cooperative spirit. Our members work with various clays - earthenware, stoneware, and porcelain. We fire and decorate our ceramics at a variety of temperatures, using electric, gas, propane, wood and soda kilns as well as pit firing and raku firing. Our work may be functional, decorative or sculptural. Some of the members throw on the potter's wheel, others hand build, and many combine methods of construction.

We are proud sponsors of the annual Nevada's Empty Bowls Benefit in which we raised over $34,000 to feed the hungry in Las Vegas. Come to the exhibit and see what we create when we are not making ceramic bowls.

This year’s exhibit is bjuried by ceramics & sculpture Professor John W Hopkins of Riverside Community College, Riverside, CA.
