Petstacular Pets -

February is Pet Month, so you can celebrate our animal pals with the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. We have thousands of books, DVDs and other resources about animals: birds, cats and dogs, horses and hamsters, tarantulas and tortoises and everything in between - wild animals, too. We even have books of recipes so you can prepare special treats for your special friends.

Celebrate the furry, feathery and scaly members of your family at a fair that’s all about them! The Petstacular Pet Fair at the Rainbow Library Amphitheatre is an outdoor event with food, pet adoptions, a used book sale, animal merchandise, great prizes, food and fun activities for everyone.

Some great authors will be visiting the pet fair also, including Steven Winn (Come Back, Como: Winning the Heart of a Reluctant Dog), and Don and Noriko Carroll (First Flight: A Mother Hummingbird’s Story). The Carrolls will be showing excerpts of their documentary of the same title throughout the day. Book sales and signings will be available following the visits.

So bring Fido, Spot, Furball, Tweety and the rest of the family to the Rainbow Library Amphitheatre on February 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and have a petstacular time! All pets should be current on their vaccinations and must be on a leash or contained at all times. For more information, visit our web site at www.lvccld.org.
